Bittersweet Day
Sorry I was unable to post something for mother's day out there...
I was sitting there watching this video and I started bawling like a baby. My dear Aunt went to be with the Lord early this morning and I'm just mourning her loss. She battled with Alzheimer's at such a young age. But I know her life was not in vain. As you will see on my sidebar, I am participating in the Memory Walk. Thank you to all you cherished supporters out there!
But as a belated mother's day post:::: Here is a really funny video about Momisms...
In memory of my Tia Chelo, You were a good Mom! I know so because I see the children you have raised and I know they are who they are because of your love. They are wonderful people! We will see you when we join you up in heaven for that Ultimate vacation (better than Hawaii!) =D when we too will be rejoicing in the heavens with our wonderful creator!
Free Vector for Appliques

It's called Clkr.com and it seriously rocks! Also great if you need something for a kids birthday party or something.

or even just for some inspiration or extra flair.

Here are a few Ideas I came up with...

or....
Spring Fever:::
This is one of the first stuffed creatures I made when I first got my sewing machine. It is currently the only item in my Etsy shop. =D I got all excited because someone asked me what size it was and I thought I was going to sell it but, nope. Oh well. I may take it off and just keep it. It looks so cute just sitting in my sewing room. I am still trying to find my niche on Etsy. But here's what I've been up to lately:::::
So I made this shirt the other day... I got to wear it to church too. I love a good relaxing dressy outfit! I got the pattern at Wal-mart. It's the first thing I've made for myself from a pattern.
I went out for a drive, because, well, it's spring and I needed some air! I was getting cabin fever. Hmm this shirt/dress goes will with jeans.
I was out taking pictures of all those pretty blooming trees....
People probably though I was "a crazy lady" (said in a nacho libre accent).... driving and taking pictures. But look at that tree---pretty!
Today I'll be mailing this out to my friend Sofia in Chicago. I'm really excited because I love sending gifts through snail-mail. Please ignore the crayon markings on my door:::::
Current Projects and Tutorial Links...
Thank you so much to Kara from Sweet & Salty for her wonderful tutorial. Thanks to her I'm gonna be sewin' up a lot of these precious skirts. Here is my version of her Girly Twirly Skirt. WOOHOOO!!!
Here it is... I am going to be sending it out by mail before our trip to New Mexico. We are going to preach at a church there, they need a pastor so we're gonna go check it out and pray to see if this is where God wants us. So please keep us in your prayers.
Here is a close up of the finished skirt. I added a flower appliqué... Ha Ha Notice the accent on the 'e' gals, for all you new seamstress' like me... HA! I went to walmart the other day and kept pronouncing it app-leek... because the only time I had ever seen that word it was online and no-one puts the accent. Well, the lady was like :::: "What?" and I described it to her and she said "OH!! appliqué" :::: talk about embarrassing
hee hee
So now here is my finished product.... I will be mailing this out to some old friends from college who had a little girl. So now I call this my Layla skirt =D
Inspiration Please!:::New Friend Friday

I love being inspired...don't you? Just a few moments I talked on the phone with my mom who is currently standing by with her family @ hospice. Her sister was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years back. My Aunt... a beautiful woman only in her 50's was diagnosed with this disease.

This is just one of those days when I don't feel much like showing off anything I've made, or photo's I've taken, or projects I have been working on. But it really is uplifting to see what everyone else out there is up to. What has inspired you this week or what have you done that is inspiring? Please link up here and give me a quick pick me up with your wonderful wonderful works of art!
and please be on the look out as I will be participating in the 2010 Memory Walk.
